WTB 450b Savage barrel

Postby snowgetter1 » Sun Dec 23, 2012 11:46 pm

New member here and just came upon this site. Forum is filled with great information. Looking for a small shank Savage 450B barrel minimum of 16" long. Going to use it for a deer rifle and my Striker pistol. Thanks. John

Happy RamaHanuKwanzMas, and welcome to the asylum! :D

You'll most likely have to contact a custom barrel shop to convert one to 450b, as they're not "on the shelf" for that brand. Some of the other inmates here have done the same thing, sort of, and will be along to guide you in the ways of custom barrel buying.

Be sure to keep us updated, with lots of pics!

A fellow on Ebay, yes Ebay, sold a 17 1/2" one a few weeks ago. I emailed him to ask if he would perhaps be making more and any chance of them with a longer barrel. He indicated he would do more, though not with a 20" barrel. Send him a message from within Ebay and see when he expects to make more.

We will have more Savage barrels in stock shortly. 16.5", varmint contour, 1/18 twist, small shank.

Watch the BFG Design and M&S Armament websites.

Hey Bryan I really like the Savage you built (OD green is my favorite color). Next time I am going to Indy, I plan to drive to your shop. How much lead time would you need to have one on the shelf for me?
Three is two, two is one and one is none.

M&S Armament is the shop you would be interested in seeing, they are in Clinton, IN just across from Wal-Mart.

BFG does not have a retail location.

Lead times are hard to predict right now, the barrel manufacturers are quoting (or not quoting) similar if not further delivery times than the 2008 mess.
