These Gasblocks are just tough. The side clamp minimizes distortion at the gas port resulting in a better seal. They are made of 416 Stainless so that they have similar expansion rates at the barrel steel. No need to jiggle and stand on one foot to get that "gap" either. Made for free floated barrels, it is sized to mate up to the shoulder on a properly profiled barrel. For barrels .750 at the gas port.
