Appears to be the same tried-n-true 250gr FTX .450 bushmaster ammo, only with new box graphics, and a lowered MSRP (by four dollars and change). Remains to be seen if there are actually any differences in the ammo itself. If it isn't vaporware (like the Hog Hammer ended up being), we can certainly take measurements and do a pull down.

If it is exactly the same, I'm at a loss for the reasoning behind this, unless they simply planned to phase out the old packaging? Only time will tell...

its probably a marketing thing just like the "zmax" ammo is. none of that (zmax) is new load technology (or bullet technology), its just snazzy packaging and a green tip on the same bullet. hornady has confirmed multiple times that product (the zmax) correspond with the equivalent bullet (if its a reloading component) or the equivalent ammo in the standard red tip version. ie: hornady zmax 168gr 308 = hornady amax match 168gr 308.

if i had to guess, this black is likely along the same lines.

They would've had a winner if they used the monoflex muzzleloader bullet
