DOH!

OK. Guy's here my latest! A1 buttstock, 8oz custom reducer, modified LimbSaver recoil pad. "Brings it back to A2 lenght". Took sometime to find the right combo of reducer and recoil pad. Getting them to work together is the trick. Here's the graph. Picture soon.

What did it look like with an A2 stock, the reducers and the limbsaver?

The same effect. The A1 & A2 Recoilless stocks weigh the same. The A2 has 2 cavities, The A1 has 1 but, is 5/8" shorter.

The A1 is 5/8" shorter and standard butt plate is 3/8" = 1" Shorter. The limbSaver is 1" so, now you back to A2 lenght. 10-5/8".
The A2 is 10-5/8" - 3/8" butt plate = 10-1/4". + 1" limbSaver = 11-1/4". or leave the butt plate on and your at 11-5/8".
I like the A2 lenght. So, I use the A1 Recoilless butt stock with the LimbSaver recoil pad.
Which would you like? 10-5/8", 11-1/4" or 11-5/8" ? :)

Gunnut, I've been thinking alot about the claims of "felt recoil". Obviously, muzzle breaks and your recoil-less stock reduces actual recoil as proven by your graphs and witnessed and experienced by myself and catter. I think we all can agree that one could conclude that less actual recoil = less "felt" recoil. Products such as the limbsaver (which I am also a fan of) have claims to reduce "felt" recoil but not actual recoil, which your graph shows it actually does contribute some. I guess what I am getting to, is that "felt" recoil should be measureable by A. putting an accelerometer on your shoulder instead of the rifle (which adds a slight human variable) or B. Use of a load cell between the stock and the lead sled to measure actual force transferred from the rifle to the shooter. I don't know if that type of technology is available or feasible, but it would seem to be a good way to evaluate claims of "felt" recoil. Not to mention a good excuse to get out to the range again! Thoughts?

BTW, all three people who have shot my 450 both before I added the recoil-less stock and the limbsaver pad, and after, immediately said what a kitten it is to shoot now by comparison. I agree :D .

The 10 5/8 " is good size for me. I measured from the inside of my elbow
(bent as in holding a rifle) to my wrist and it comes up around 10 1/2".
BTW, is there any way I can flag this thread to keep an eye on when you update it?
