The stock has a spring below the tube that takes up some of the recoil. The rifle moves slightly along its axis as that spring compresses. Without the spring, either your shoulder moves or you get the full recoil transmitted through your shoulder.

Will report back, when I have tried out the rifle.

I think IMO, there is a distinct difference in the way these two stocks react to recoil. The FAB is absorbing recoil, yet allowing the rifle to move during the recoil pulse. Gunnuts' stock does not permit "movement", instead, it is dampening or attenuating the initial recoil impulse internally.

I think I'm gonna give him a chance to catch up on past orders before I ask for mine.

But I am gonna be asking. LOL

+1 Ditto

I need two more myself, but it's below zero time now, so no rush for about 4 months. :|

From the conversation I had with Ross he is just now catching up and should have my Grendel brake shipped today or Monday. I'm sure he would welcome your business.

I fired 100 rounds through my bushmaster 450 yesterday using the lower I just built with the Mako GL-Shock butt stock. No ill effects from recoil, but then I never have had any using my standard collapsable butt stock from my XM15 with a recoil pad.

I did note, as someone else has commented, that the longitudinal motion of the rifle (along the axis of the barrel) seemed to be more significant than with my standard stock.

I will need to take both lowers out to the range in the future to test them one after the other to see if there really is a difference.

At the moment, I don't see much difference from the standard stock, but it does look cool.

Make a HQ video using a tripod of that stock in action. 30 seconds to 1 minute should do. If you don't have software, I can put it in slow motion for you, burn to disk and mail it back so you can post on you tube, or I will post it on my YouTube for you. We would like to see how that stock responds to the 450 Bushy!
