Are you still getting mileage on the aluminum "tank brake"?

yes., I'm using it as a standard for development of a reducers that works with muzzel brakes. I've put about 150 of my working loads through it with little or no signs of wear. Just a little dirty. I don't have any before and after pic's. It's still doing the job!

"Mako" & FAB Defense in Israel sees a need for recoil reduction!! Looks like it has everything.
Let’s see how much time they spent on recoil.

W.C is right!! Others are watching this site very closely. ;) .......right down to the X-Ray!

Has anyone tested the Mako/FAB GL-Shock to see how effective they are at reducing recoil? Their website claims that their stock is "the perfect solution for AR-15s and AR-10s chambered in harder recoiling calibers, such as the 6.8 SPC, .308 Winchester, .450 Bushmaster, or .50 Beowulf." They later mention the application to 12 gauge shotguns. Here's a link to their You Tube video. It looks like the stock has somewhere between 1/2" and 3/4" of travel as the spring absorbs the recoil.

Along with a brake and an enhanced recoil pad, this looks like it COULD be the answer for anyone wanting a collapsible stock. Mine is incoming.

Nice stock. A lot of thought went into that. I like the cheek piece too. BTW, How bout that music on the video!? LOL! I was waiting for a pole dance!

First off, THANKS Gunnut !!!!

I put the Gunny's stock on my new lower build and off to the range. It changed the recoil into a slow shove for me.
I was able to fire over 100 rounds with no problems. Last few times at the range I was only able to handle 20 or so rounds.
Not that the 450 has a lot of recoil to start, but I have issues with my back and was unable to handle much more.
So thanks again Gunnie, you gave this old dog a few more years!

I think my stock is from down south, after every round I could hear a good old southern twang going on inside the stock. ;) ;) ;)

Gunnys' stocks work great. I ordered another one, an A2 this time, for my 6.5 Grendel. It should be here soon. But I am going to test it out on the 450 Bushmaster first.

I am ordering the GL-SHOCK for my lower build project based on the promo, a pretty good review on the web here http://arealmansreviews.blogspot.com/2010/06/mako-recoil-reducing-ar-15-butt-stock.html

Jim, I thought about using the GL-Shock also. Let me know how it works.
This is my first A1 stock. I like the cheek weld and LOP much better than an M4 stock.
The GL should cover both of those.

Looks like I got the attention of some big boys! There is a need and a market.
I was working on a proto type very similar. Looks like they beat me to it!
I think custom springs and counter weights might help to fine tune it to a specific gun and ammo.
The only major difference that I see is that the stock moves.
I would love to test one.

But in that video, the rifle is still "moving" not absorbing. Seems to me, Gunnys' stock does more absorption and attenuation of recoil, making the rifle more stable. Am I wrong?
