I'm a little biased to the 450 ;) mostly to use it hunting here in Michigan.

Lot of good uppers out there now, $400-800

Of the three you mention, the 450 BM has less expensive and more readily available ammunition and proven performance.

That said, have you heard about Winchester's 350 Legend?

Thanks for the warm welcome! I’m new to the 450B, but not reloading or shooting. I just got a Ruger GSR for this magnificent chambering, and am already hooked. Hell, it might just give my 45-70 some competition for best thumper in the collection. Anyways, I’m specifically interested in load data for Alliant 300-MP, and will give it a search right now in the forum. Thanks again for the welcome. See you guys around.

Hey all just wanted to say thank you for all of the information you've compiled on this forum. I just took my 450 AR out to the range for the first time and everything worked without a hitch. I've been reading up on the known issues with this caliber on this platform for the last two weeks and I managed to prevent them from happening to me, so far. I've been looking at this build for about a year for a black bear hunting build, but I decided to update my old 45/70 instead for this spring. Then I stumbled across a Black Rain upper for $480 on gunbroker so I finally pulled the trigger and bought one. This thing is amazing. I hate having to retire the 45/70, but I really like this rifle. So thank you all for the information provided to make my first time out with it turn out great.

I hello all! My name is Ron and I live in Humble Texas. I am a Patron member of the NRA and a lifelong shooter.
I just picked up a BCA 450 upper and I shot it for the first time yesterday. Not as bad in the recoil as I was led to believe.
I had one Bushmaster 7 round magazine that wouldn't feed for anything.
Still managed to get it sighted in and fired 30 rounds. Looking forward to learning more about this caliber and gun from y'all.
What is the "black follower" and where do you get them. I just got a Tromix 450 follower and am waiting for a magazine to put it in.
