2. Hornady Black or Custom? Custom
3. AR 15, Bolt Action or single shot? AR
4. Barrel length and twist rate. 20” / 1:24”
5. Distance to target. (Approximate will be okay if you’re not sure). 30 yards
6. Type of animal and approximate weight. Feel free to post a picture. Wild pig, 60 lbs
7. Did you recover the animal successfully? Yes
8. Where did bullet impact and what organs and bones were affected? Shot behind the left front leg
9. Did the bullet pass through? Yes
10. Did the bullet remain in the carcass and did you recover the bullet and fragments? Post picture if possible. No and no
11. Did you suffer any loss of edible meat? Yes
12. How far did the animal run after being shot? Did not run; dropped immediately
13. What kind of blood trail did you have? N/A
14. In your opinion, what are the strong points of the 250 Grain FTX? Weight and accuracy at short range
15. In your opinion, what are the weak points of the 250 Grain FTX? Probably more bullet than needed at short range on smallish game

6. Type of animal and approximate weight. Feel free to post a picture. Elk 725 lbs
7. Did you recover the animal successfully? No
8. Where did bullet impact and what organs and bones were affected? First shot was behind the left front leg, which should have been a heart lung shot, but may have hit the shoulder;
The second shot was quartering away into the right side
9. Did the bullet pass through? Unknown, but probably not
10. Did the bullet remain in the carcass and did you recover the bullet and fragments? Post picture if possible. Not recovered
11. Did you suffer any loss of edible meat? N/A
12. How far did the animal run after being shot? N/A Animal moved away slowly and was tracked by a light blood trail onto a neighboring property; could not obtain permission to continue tracking from the land owner and did not recover the animal
13. What kind of blood trail did you have? Light and intermittent
14. In your opinion, what are the strong points of the 250 Grain FTX? Weight
15. In your opinion, what are the weak points of the 250 Grain FTX? Loss of energy at or beyond 200 yards, excessive drop after 300 yards

4. Barrel length and twist rate. 20" 1-10
5. Distance to target. (Approximate will be okay if you’re not sure). 130 yards
6. Type of animal and approximate weight. Feel free to post a picture. Whitetail 125#
7. Did you recover the animal successfully? Yes
8. Where did bullet impact and what organs and bones were affected? Left lung, stomach, intestines. No bones
9. Did the bullet pass through? No
10. Did the bullet remain in the carcass and did you recover the bullet and fragments? Post picture if possible.Yes
11. Did you suffer any loss of edible meat? Yes, small amount-Left front shoulder
12. How far did the animal run after being shot? 25yards
13. What kind of blood trail did you have? None first 15 yards- then massive blood trail
14. In your opinion, what are the strong points of the 250 Grain FTX? Accuracy
15. In your opinion, what are the weak points of the 250 Grain FTX? Fragmentation without hitting bone. Separation of jacket and core.

2. Hornady Black or Custom? /Hornady black

3. AR 15, Bolt Action or single shot? /Ruger American

4. Barrel length and twist rate. /Barrel is 16.5 - twist 1-16 I think

5. Distance to target. (Approximate will be okay if you’re not sure). 298yards...laser ranged

6. Type of animal and approximate weight. Feel free to post a picture. New Mexico Cow ELK ...375-400 Lbs

7. Did you recover the animal successfully? /Yes

8. Where did bullet impact and what organs and bones were affected? / Enterance at Left ribs broke one on the way in,exit right chest(quarting away shot) top of both lungs Destroyed

9. Did the bullet pass through? /yes

10. Did the bullet remain in the carcass and did you recover the bullet and fragments? / no recovery, pass through

11. Did you suffer any loss of edible meat? / no meat loss

12. How far did the animal run after being shot? / 30 yards

13. What kind of blood trail did you have? / major Bloodloss from both sides

14. In your opinion, what are the strong points of the 250 Grain FTX? / Very accurate and did the job on my elk.i would not hesitate to shoot Elk with a 450 bushmaster just put it where it’s supposed to go....Just my two cents worth

15. In your opinion, what are the weak points of the 250 Grain FTX? / none so far
