2015 bears

Postby Al in Mi » Fri Jun 19, 2015 6:40 am

thought I'd share a couple of Manitoba bear pics last month even thou they were not taken with a 450B. Hopefully have a bolt gun to take there next year!!

I'm sorta cursed with colored bears, this one is #6, and a chocolate has been in my bucket list for years and this is one big big chocolate! Played cat and mouse with him for 3hrs before the 50 Alaskan barked. He's big, 7' tip of nose to tip of tail, 65" around the chest. Scales in camp only go to 400# and took 2 of us to lift him up so it wasn't pegged, if I had to guess he's north of 500#. I have a couple of vids on him to show his size, but don't know how to resize them down to attach.

The black I signed on to my buds tag for the lastnite, he wanted a colored for a rug................yeah right...............not gonna happen buddy !!! Well if a cinnamon sow come in early but I passed her up and about a hour later this black came in. He already has a couple of black rugs, does he wants a 3rd.......he's a 1/2 mile away and I haven't heard a shot, gonna be dark in a hour, I'm hungry.............. sooooooooooooo I line the sights of the 577 double between his shoulder blades and tripped the front trigger. He's a big bugger too, pegged the scale but only took a little lift to bring it off. Buddy was very happy with a big black and got a excellent rug, I bloodied a new gun and got to keep the skull and swizzle stick !!

no I don't hunt here. I drew a tag once and gave it my buds kid. I'm cursed with colored bears, he was #6. Manitoba is my spring fling anymore.
