2015 Whitetail Season

Postby Slugger » Sun Jan 17, 2016 10:13 am

2015 was my the best ever in my 22 years of hunting. I shot my personal best buck ever and did it with archery tackle, and the BM upper came in just in time to slap it on my RRA lower and get it sighted in for my 12 year old son to put a 100 yd shot on his best buck ever.

Masons buck was a 100 yd shot with factory hornady 250 gr ammo. bullet entered a little back and a tad lower than ideal for a double lung shot. the deer high kicked and ran about 15-20 yds before he expired.
entrance hole was as expected. Exit hole was a also as expected for a 100 yd through and through shot through the ribcage. Nice half dollar sized hole. bullet caught the rear of one lung making a softball sized chuck disappear and turned the liver into soup. I was extremely impressed with the on game performance of the Bushmaster.
Great season for us!
