Opening day for firearms season was the worst for me that I can remember. Didn't see a single deer all day. However while I was waiting on legal shooting time for deer, this guy tried slipping across the field covered in frost. Too bad for him he isn't protected by such laws.. :D

The 450 barked once and lights out.

Sunday and Monday morning I had better luck seeing some does and a spike that didn't want to seem to leave me. For Monday evening hunt I decided to take the climber into the woods and it was worth the work! About 5 o'clock I heard some crunching behind me that had the right rhythm. And when I turned my head to look behind me I saw this guy. When he let me I got him in the sights of the 450. He wouldn't stop walking, so I shot him moving. It was only about a 40 yard shot. Destroyed the shoulder he ran about twenty yards and collapsed trying to jump a hill. Was a good day, and now it looks like I'm on doe patrol for the rest of the year!

Awesome. Good to hear I'm not the only one in Indiana not using a high power! Good luck and happy killing

I do have a few other ARs that are deer legal but I see no need in shoot a deer beyond the limits of the 450 for myself
