Cow Elk Down

Shot this cow on Tuesday morning in Colorado. 50 yards, and she was facing me. Perfect shot at the neck/chest junction, and she was down before I racked the bolt and got her back in the scope. I searched high and low for the bullet, but couldn't find it in the guts. Hole in the liver was about half dollar size or a touch bigger. Destroyed the heart/lung junction, and punched that big hole in the liver before I lost where it went. 275 grain TSX over 34.5 grains of h110 delivered me a couple hundred pounds of elk meat!

Looks like I fat fingered the load. It was 35.5 grains of H110. Freezer looks like me after a big meal... Stuffed!

Congrats! My elk was not in a position to be taken with the 450 this year. 338 win mag did the trick though. That’s gunna taste great!
