VA buck

I took this one with a 50 yard shot on Saturday. I'm using a 16" Bushmaster upper, TAMR linear compensator and Bushmaster mags on a Stag Arms lower.

This is the eleventh deer I've taken with the 450BM in addition to a couple black bears. All of them were taken with 250gr FTX bullets over LilGun. The shots ranged from 20 to 150 yards and all of them were one shot kills. Nothing has made it more than about 50 yards after being hit.

I'm a fan of the FTX bullet. I've taken more than a dozen deer with the 250gr FTX bullet in Harvester Crushed Rib Sabots in my CVA .50 muzzleloader since 2013 with 100gr Blackhorn 209. From 1700fps on up to 2200fps, the 250gr FTX has never let me down and has proven to be quite accurate.

Good report and deer! The BM uppers aren't much on bells and whistles but they are workhorses. I have 2 myself but I changed the handguards.

That’s my next project. I already have a Samson hand guard on my parts shelf waiting. I actually have a couple of hand guard projects waiting for me. Do you have the 20”? How easy was it to get that tube off? You can answer in PMs.

I totally agree. I'm not a fan of the round handguard. But it's not exactly easy to swap on this upper.

It's a bit tough for me to consider making any changes to it considering how well it shoots and it works flawlessly. 100% one shot kills and zero malfunctions. I ain't touching it. :D

getting that tube to break free on mine was a royal CSB lol

i managed to crack the loctite without the flame wrench, but was getting close to getting it out when it did let go finally.

i used my big strap wrench to get it loose.
