WI bear with 450

Postby champ150 » Tue Sep 20, 2011 6:58 pm

Image got a 250 lb black bear with my 450 Bushmaster on 9-17-11. my first bear, took 9 years to get a tag. Hornady 250 grain factory load. great performance with the rounds passing thru, was reading articles about bears not bleeding or leaving a blood trail. not so with the 450! dead in 30 feet.

Are they any good to eat? Can't say they ever served Bear at our club's wild game feed each March. Lots of other new experiences, but not bear.

Congrats. Hope to try my luck at an elk this year with mine.

Congrats!
Hoot, I had bear when I went to Maine for a bear hunt and one of the successful hunters was nice enough to donate some meat for us to taste. I really like venison and the bear was even better tasting to me.
