Young possum is very much like pork and very good to eat. But, possum-on-the-half-shell, is better known as Armadillo. I just figured, that them, good-old-boys, in the deep south, would have some eating experience with them..t

Nope, possum on the half shell is off the menu! Anywhere.

I ate a possum once, by trickery. They told me it was coon. I had never tried coon so I jumped on it.
They had baked it smothered in onions. It was absolutely delicious. They told me it was possum after I was done.
I didn't believe them 'til I looked in the trash can at the skin. I'd eat it again. (Of course, a turd smothered in onions
might be pretty good) :)

Now possum on the half shell..aka armadillo.. no thanks, ever.

Well, if that wasn't enough... I have always heard that the armadillo was the only species other than humans capable of carrying leaprosy... Don't know if it's a fact, but I know some opportunistic folks and if they don't eat it...

Opossum on the half shell is an armadillo. I never ate one before but
I do recall Ted Nugent shooting one with a bow and making a soup.
He claimed it was nasty. I grew up in Bossier Parish and I gotta tell
ya, be very wary eating at the little stores along the highways
out in the boondocks. If you pay attention, you will notice very
Little roadkills around Toledo Bend Lake south of Mansfield.
That's what the locals use to make Zowolle Tamales! We had a
Deer lease near Many, La. And the locals did brag on this.
But I gotta admit BBQ coon ain't bad at all!
