For a basecamp situation, it's hard to beat a Camp Chef.

Though, for quite a good many years I have used my home made alcohol stove:

Those keg cans were the best. Ultra light, and the banding added a lot of strength. It wasn't difficult to collect those after Super Bowl or World Series, but they stopped making them when the O-conomy became worse.

Wow, cool Stove Bill! I ended up buying the camp chef everest. It has 20kbtu's per burner, and I can power it from either a 1lb or 20 lb cylinder. I forgot to mention I already have a blackstone griddle that doubles as a fish cooker/big pot cooker for the big jobs. Thanks for all the tips guys!

Stove came in, and I test fired it up. I think I'm gonna be very happy. It definitely has some btu's. The only thing I didn't like about it was that it was imported... but Coleman is imported as well now.

As I recall, there are accessories to turn the Camp Chef into a BBQ grill. might be worth looking in to.

Yeah, I've seen those, and I have one for my big griddle. It works well, but it's a pain to clean. This Camp Chef is going to be my more portable version, for when it's just me sans family.

BTW I went camping/turkey hunting last weekend and tried it out.. The camp chef "everest" has the same or more power as a real home type gas stove. I had coffee in no time. I highly recommend.

The camp chef Everest is still going strong. Can't believe it's been almost 4 years now. Took it out to Ossabaw Island on a pig hunt this year and it's still going strong. Bushmeister Jr. missed his deer/hog opportunities, but he was fed well.

Bill, why not use a full size can as opposed to a shortened can???
