Deer Rifle For A Novice Hunter

I’m in the market for a deer rifle. I’ve never gone deer hunting. Well....any type of real hunting for that matter.

Welcome.

Where are you located, that's play into which rifle.

What did you decide? Did you get a rifle? Did you hunt? This year I got my daughter a CVA Cascade and she loves it. She’s switching from a 20 ga smooth bore (Iowa only became a “straight wall state” five years ago and she was reluctant to switch). This year she shot her first two deer within an hour of each other and she said, “Dad, this is so much better! I was so confident! This thing is ACURATE!” I shoot a Ruger American GoWild, also in 450 B, but I’d have to say the choice would have been hard if they had made the CVA when I got my Ruger.
