Son's first deer

Postby MarkCO » Mon Nov 04, 2013 10:25 am

My oldest son turned 12 on Friday and harvested his first deer on Saturday. Spotted the herd, picked his animal out. One shot through the heart and lungs with a TC Encore in .308 with a Burris 2-7 FFII on top. 150 grain Federal Fusion.

Nice doe! Glad to see you're getting the young'uns into shooting sports, too. Helps them understand the "real world".

Every hunter remembers his first. If not already in progress, start a photo album.

Somewhere around here, I have a picture of my first deer taken after I moved to Minnesota, on the hood of my 1978 Ford Fiesta.
