Upland birds

A couple of buddies and I made a trip to KS for upland birds at the Smoky River Rendezvous. Not sure which was more fun, the hunting or watching the dogs work. In any case we did well, though they are farmed birds. Still have to knock them out of the air... Me in the middle.

Nice variety of shooting scenarios presented in that picture and apparently nice weather to boot!

You are all invited to my club's March Wild Game Feed. We'll provide the wild rice, you bring the meat. ;)

I miss quail hunting. Heard one bobwhite call once in 40 years here.

It was all of that and a couple of my oldest friends. We've ridden motorcycles together for years, first time hunting.

That's a heck of a nice offer Hoot, sounds like a good time.
