I just bought a Burris fullfield 2 3.5-10x50 for the 450 from natchezss.com for 129.99 and I just couldn't pass it up. From the research I have done they seem to be decent and have a lifetime warranty. I was eyeballing the 3-9x40 for 169 till I saw this deal, Hopefully it works out. It's replacing a Leupold vari-x 2 1-4x shotgun scope, in which was just temporary till I got something else.

EDIT: heres the link incase anyone else is interested..

Helluva a deal but I have been spoiled and am now biased toward a more tactical type scope. Damn me and my pickyness.

Just wondering, how did you like the leupold on your 450. i have the same one and was planning on mounting it on my 450.

I have only shot about 10 rounds with it on there and it seemed pretty good on eye relief and such. But I like higher magnification so I can see where I hit. With the Leupold on 4x I couldn't see where on the bucket I was hitting. I love it on my 11-87 slug gun but being in Ohio deer are usually within 50 yards so that's all I need.

Unfortunately not a mildot reticle. Ballistic plex is not the same.

And etijsma, as far as a tactical scope being overly difficult, quite the contrary. The Mil-dot reticle allows you to range your target, no guessing or range finders necessary. The large, finger adjustable turrets mean that you can properly adjust your scope for the given range and windage. No guessing. Generally tactical scopes are built more robustly than normal hunting or target scopes. Less worry of losing zero or a lens going out of adjustment. Last but not least, if you simply do not have time to adjust the turrets or just flat out would rather hold over for elevation or windage the mil-dot reticle allows you to hold over accurately whereas a normal hunting reticle leaves it all up to chance. That is how prey is lost due to missed shots or, heaven forbid, bad shots resulting in an animal that can elude your tracking but still die.

When you take the guess work out of the equation the result is cleaner shots that lead to less tracking, more humane kills, less meat loss and better hunting success. Something to ponder.

I just assumed dots = mil dot

This shows the difference.

;) Very big difference. I'm tellin' ya, if people would try it they would realize the many benefits to a good tactical scope. It's an invaluable tool. Once an animal is out of the zero range of your scope it's all a guessing game. You may as well look at them through your binocs and pull the trigger hoping it'll hit. Mil-dots are where it's at, man. :D
