Looking at my mount options and really would like to put a QD one piece mount. looked at the Vortex and the Burris. Has anyone had any expierence with QD on this caliber? Hold zero? I just ordered a a Vortex Viper PST in 2.5-10x44 and sure would like to be able to share it with my light barreled 556 for yote's. No doubt there wouldnt be any issues with the 556 hold but not so sure on the 450b.

Just snagged one from optics planet 89.99 shipped. Im going to try it without a riser first. Im pretty sure Im going to want a riser as my 556 uppers have the riser as part of the upper and I really like the chinweld with this height.

Another vote for the Burris QD. Mine seems to hold zero great. You should not have any problems. How's the yote population back there these days?

Yotes are here in decent numbers. Biggest prob I have is getting enough places to hunt them in se mi.they do get educated quick and I have to let the area cool off.

+1 on the Burris PEPR. I have three. One in 30mm. Midway had pretty good prices when the have them on sale and I get discount coupons in my email every month for sales because I'm signed up to get ads via email.

I don't think QD is really necessary unlsess you are going to be swapping out hot, and in a hurry. All of the quality one piece mounts will hold zero. So I need an allen wrench. To me, the lack of stuff to snag make a good one piece mount superior to a QD mount. I can swap a scope out in 1 minute with quality one piece mount and still have my zero.

My favorite mounts are the JPs. They are standard in 30mm which most of my optics are anyway. They also have a 35mm out now. Vortex mounts are very good quality and I have one on a .308 bolt gun.

The price on the 1" is the same as the 30MM. You can search for part # "410341"
