After the comment about parallex on the shotgun scope I went to Nikon's website and took a good look. (been there, but obviously wasn't paying attention) The Nikon Slughunter is parallex adjusted to 100 yards. Waiting for my upper now and also have the scope on order, so we'll see in a few days.

Well then, that's fairly good, just don't expect barn-stormer groups much past 150. They will be noticeably opening up after 150, but still very capable..t

It took a little load work, but I've got the 250 grain FTXs to stay at moa out to 300. The groups shift around a bit, (parallax?, who knows?), the FTXs are still flying true. 300 yards is about where all the minor factors like crimp, brass and primer come together to either make the grade, or not.

Holly Cow!!

A buddy of mine shot a deer at 335 paces, with the 250 ftx and Swiss Cheese'd it and downed it very dead, right smack in it's tracks, and at that range.

With Groups like BD's,.. day-ain't much you'all kain't kills!!

I'm going to have to set-up a 600yd shot on some water jugs and test for penetration of our various bullets, compared to, say, a 338win-mag. With groups like BD's, 600yds ought to be a walk in the park..t

Thinking of mounting a reflex sight on my 450. Got a riser with a short rail on each side even with the rear scope ring. Thinking about mounting at a 45 degree angle beside the scope. any ideas about what brand, model etc. for sight ? Any ideas about mounts would be welcome also. Thanks.

As far as small reflex sights that the manufacturers will stand behind: Burris makes a real nice little red dot reflex that will mount on a very short section of rail, held by a single cross bolt. Ultra Dot also makes one that needs a little more rail, but has two cross bolts.

The metal housing Docters are smaller yet, and pricier, with mixed reviews on reliability and service.

I finally got to sight in my Nikko Stirling on my 450 and so far, I
really like it. It's shooting about 3 inches high at 75 yards but the
Groups are within 3/4". A few days ago we had another family
Git-down on my range and I obliterated two milk jugs full of
Water. I'm just wondering at 3" high at 75 yards, where would that
Put the bullet at 100/150/200/250 yards? Does anyone have
Data or a good guesstament?
On a bad note, the BSA that I got for the Ruger PC9 is not
Going to work out. The eye relief is too much. But I got a
gift card for my birthday last week so I ran down to
Cheaper than Dirt and picked up a holographic sight
For the PC9 and so far, I luv it! I'm going to sell the
BSA.

Do you want it to hit 3" high at 75 yards or is your scope not able to adjust the point of impact any lower?

Assuming you are talking about the Hornady factory load, since you didn't say otherwise.
