You can never be too cautious where hurricanes are concerned.

Wanted to thank you fellas, after seeing your post I started to Ebay surf and landed a pepr burris for 60 bucks! this thing fits my Leopuld 3-9x40 like a glove with perfect relief adjustments.

I use the Nikon P-Series scope mounts. They are not one piece but made for an AR flat top platform and work great. We aren't shooting massive recoil rifles here fellas, regular two bolt mounts will work just fine.

Found this today on Cheaper than dirt, a speed mount that appears to be decent quality- http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/product/ARR-247

Nice find. It sure looks sturdy and with the quick disconnet. Now if it only had offset rings like the Nikon P series or the Burris PEPR mounts. But then it would cost three or four times as much!!

we'll see just how good they are I ordered six of them for myself and a friend for our new ARs. I expect to have a clearance problem with one of my 50mm scopes due to having a top rail on my hand guard. The rest are 40mm or no top rail like on the 450B.

I needed a riser under the rings to get the scope up to the right eye height, since the stock is at the same level as the receiver. I got the UTG medium one, give you about 7/8ths of an inch, as I recall.

Just picked up an RRA cantilever scope mount for $60. Looks good, and cheaper than the PEPR, and doesn't have the rails on top.

Just installed these on my 450 and took them to the range last Wednesday. Here is a pic of the mounts with my "cheapo" Sportsmans Guide 3-12 x 50 mm scope (which has held up just fine over 500 rounds of BM450) and my target. Yeah, I know, the five shot groups are not great, but I was battling 25 mph wind gusts that actually shook the rifle on the bipod. OK, that's my story, and I'm sticking with it. But it just shows that the rings and scope seemed to be working just fine. BTW those are 3" bullseyes on the target at 100 yards.

I was using standard rings on a 3/4" riser, but after viewing this video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=COoXVpGfXQE - on how to set up a scope, I got rid of the riser to get the scope closer to the barrel and with the P-series mounts have the proper eye relief.
