That was my first scope. My GF got me the monster for last Chrstmas. I think it's 6-22X 50mm 30mm tube Mil Dot.
You can see the original Nikko down below the gun rest.

Okay guys, please forgive me. The big Nikko is NOT a 6-22X50. I was trying to go from memory and that just doesn't work out very well when I'm in the process of being sedated by my dentist.
It is a 4-16X50mm Mil Dot with the 30mm tube.

I've been running an inexpensive Pentax red dot on mine. Longest kill shot was on a 195 lb boar at about 120 yards.

Luepold Ultimate Slam SBR 2-7X

The reticle gives you perfect holdover for the SST 250 grain 2000fps Hornday load out to 300 yards.

Optics Planet has the Leopold VX-R on sale with the Firedot BDC reticle with CDC. I just bought one for them (without CDC) on the recommendation of Johnny Glueck at Active Tuning Solutions (http://activecamo.com/ATSwebsite/index.html), who prefers this model to the newer Leopold scopes. After one range session to zero the scope (at fifty yards), I fired 15 three round groups of 250 gr FTX factory loads and 225 gr FTX handloads with all the holes touching on each target. The BDC works great, but adding the Firedot feature which puts a variable brightness spot centered on the cross hairs was a real marvel.

Some I have run on my 450's.

Millett 4x16 50mm scope. Side focus and illuminated crosshairs. Overkill for the caliber but for a guy with crappy eyesight it does wonders. Good eye relief and can be found for under $300. Optics Planet and Natchez run sales on them.

Burris 3-9x40 Ballistic Plex. Good eye relief, clear glass and tough. Can be found for around $170. I bought three that were supposedly blems from Natchez. They looked more like overstocks.

Nikon P-223 3-9x40. Good glass for the price. Handled recoil fine. Another scope in the $170 range.

Redfield Revenge 3-9x44 AccuRange scope. Just wanted to try one out and mounted it on my 20" upper. Awesome scope. Now sits on top of my AR10. A $200 scope but sales and rebates come often.
