I am looking for a scope for hunting with my 450 Bushmaster. I am in Florida and will be doing most of my shooting from 100 to 150 yards. I am looking for something with decent magnification. I have narrowed it down to a few different scopes and wondered what everyones recommendation would be.

#1 - Leupold Ultimate Slam 3-9X40
#2 - Nikon Inline XR 3-9X40
#3 - Nikon Slughunter 3-9X40

All 3 scopes would work, are very nice ones. At 100 yards 3 to 4 power is all I use.
I use to be an iron sight guy, 100 to 200 yards, no problem.
Now the scope is much appreciated. ;)

Welcome. I put on the Burris Fullfield II in the 4.5x-14x-42mm on mine. Very clear, Handles low light conditions very well. 50 rounds and still holding zero.good luck on your choice.

The Nikon Slughunter in 1.65-5 x 36 is what I use on my Thumper and it gives me enough magnification for 150 yards or so and at low power is great for slipping through the woods trying to bust a hog.

Go to Midway and check out the Nikko Stirling scopes. I own two of them and they both have held up well. FYI, wildcatter also uses these scopes.

I'm using a 1.5-8x Minox that was listed in Field and Stream as a Top 10 Best Buy. That way you'd get the best of both worlds 1.5 for close in hogs and 8x for sighting in and longer range. Cameraland has some show specials for just $299. They have German Schott Glass and a lifetime warranty, good luck.

I like 30Hart's thinking, allot.

Low power for the kill, under extreme conditions and high power, so you don't have the extra added weight of binos..

Just a heads up. I got an email from Natchez and they're closing out Burris Fullfield 3-9x40 scopes for $139.00!

That is a phenomenal price for a tough as nails, reliable, work horse (not a show horse) scope. Some members here use it on their 450b.

If I didn't already have scopes I haven't even taken out of the box, I'd be all over that.
