Need advice on recoil\shock regarding thermal sights

Here is a poser;
I am interested in trying some different thermal\night vision products. There is a company in Dallas that rents thermal and digital night vision products. The digital product is Pulsar N750 and it has an amazing picture on full moon nights without the assistance of IR illuminators. The thermal products are the ATN Thor line which was a big hit at last year's SHOT show. At that time ATN claimed they could be used on up to a .50 caliber. They now have downgraded that rating to a limit of a .308. So my question is how does the shock/recoil of the 450BM rank and would it fit within the allowable guidelines that ATN has set ? The Thumper is just that, a good thump but not the shock associated with other rifle calibers so I am thinking that we should be ok. Am I wrong? The owner of the company does not want me to use a thermal sight on my 450 until we get some clarification. Until then I am using a thermal handheld for spotting purposes and then stalking close before switching to the gun mounted digital unit. Not a bad system but the digital cannot see into brush\cane like a thermal can.
BTW - Tyler Adair at http://www.thermaloutfitters.comis a good guy to do business with. I can vouch for their products and service.

Recoil pulse from the 450b is nothing like a bolt gun's...I'm sure Gunny can provide some pertinent facts and figures in this regard...you might PM him for info.

I have the ATN MK 350. It's pretty sweet but the range on it is limited to a max of about 150 yards using the IR+ my sniper hog light on low settings. As for recoil.... Since I have Noonans stock on mine, had no issues so far but I have only made a dozen or so shots.

I have a Pulsar N550 and have put a box of rounds or so through it, no problems of any kind. The 450b is a Thumper on the receiving end of the operation, not the "sending" end...

Just for our knowledge I will post what gunny had to say when I posed the question to him;

"I tested my Armalite AR10 308 it averaged 24Gs with a 150grain bullet. 20inch barrel.
The 450 bushmaster averages 24Gs with a 250grain bullet. 16inch barrel.
The main difference is the duration of the 450B recoil is shorter.
The initial shock is the same. But, for less time with the 450 Bushmaster."

That was the information I was looking for. All I have to do is convince the owner of the rental company that the BM450 is no more punishing on equipment than the .308.

Correction! The impulse is the same. but, the 450B is longer not as sharp. Not by much. sorry!
I'll post some graph when I figure it out.
