Scopes for the .450

Just purchased a Bushmaster upper and was wondering what scopes would be recommended. Use will primarily be for hog hunting but will use for white tail as well. Distances can range from up close and personal out to 100-150 yards depending on the stand I am hunting. Right now I have the option of an EOtech 512 and a Bushnell T-dot optic but would be interested in what you guys recommend in a powered optic. The Nikon Slug Hunter 1-5X caught my eye but they have been discontinued.

Vortex Viper PST. They have illuminated reticles and have a no-fault lifetime warranty. I got two of them and they are great.

I use the Burris MTAC optics almost exclusively. The 1.5-6 is on my 16" 450BM. Great glass, forever warranty.

We have mounted dozens of the Nikon muzzleloader scopes for customers in the 3-9x range. The ballistic drop is nice but the eye relief is superb and so is the glass for the money... they're the INLINE XR series....
Can't say enough about them..

I've got a Burris short mag 3x9x32 great scope. Had it on my FAL prior to the 450.
I think they call it the Timberline now. I'd get another one.

Both Nikon and Leupold make scopes with a BDC reticle exactly duplicating the Hornady factory 250 grain FTX load. Good to go to 300 yards. With those available any other scope would have to also do my taxes for me before I'd even consider it. IMHO the Leupy 2x7 ultimate Slam is hard to beat for the .450B
BD

The Nikon BDC reticle may be great for a big hole like a 450 BM, but the reticle is way too thick for a smaller hole like a 223 IMHO.

I purchased a Weaver Super Slam Dangerous Game 1-5x - well built and has nice glass for sure. I wanted to give folks a heads up on pricing - its been jumping around a lot lately. It was $414 "on clearance" at Midway back in December and dropped as low as $375 on Amazon around Christmas. Now its $532 at Midway (still on clearance supposedly) and $475 on Amazon. Definitely shop around and keep checking prices.
