Eotech on the 450b?

Postby dale » Wed Apr 07, 2010 10:21 pm

Hey, is anyone using an eotech on their 450? I'm thinking about a 512, the standard base model. In theory it should be a natural choice other than price. (i hear they're super sturdy and keep zero to hell and back)
any thoughts

I am. and yes, They hole zero to hell and back. Mine was centered out of the box. just adjust elevation.
They will hold zero when removed and reinstalled if you make sure that everything is clean and you put it back exactly where and how it was installed. Like the same position on rail and pushing it forward and down to the right when securing. Just my method. I've got 4 of them.

Running a 557 with a flip to side eotech 4x magnifier without a hitch.

Yes. I use an EOTech 552. The 512 will be a good choice too. The zero has held steady as a rock.

I mounted mine far enough forward to have room for the flip to side magnifier which I also use on my ar10.
The ARs are a great weapons platform and the eotechs make a great addition. No matter which gun I pick up they all function and sight the same.

Gunnut, What brand of magnifier do you use and what kind of eye relief does it give you?

I've got the exact same setup on my Del-Ton AR-15. I absolutely love that combo! There are about 5 guys at work that are planning on buying that same setup after taking a look through mine.

I'm using the 557 and Eotech 3X-FTS, that I had on my old 223 Bushmaster OCR upper.
I also have the Lasermax Green mounted on the Daniel Denfense Omega 7 rail that I just swapped out for the free float tube.
Now I'm looking for Night Vision Googles so I can do some night hog hunting. I figure with the NV googles I dont have to swap the Eotech 3X-FTS each night. Just wear the NV Googles and point the green pointer and squeeze the trigger. :ugeek:

Use an IR laser instead. I never hunted hog before but if they can see green then your green laser might spook them and/or give way your position.
