I was also looking at the Cabelas Powderhorn Muzzle loading scope. It's a 3-10x40 and looks like the bullet drop reticle would be pretty close...what do ya think?



The scale could start at 50yrs...or have a different scale all together like : 100, 200, 250, 300

Ok...the Cabelas scope is supposed to be crap. I guess I'll look a little closer at the Redfield.

I have a Burris Fullfield II 2-7 with Ballistic Plex reticle on my 20" 450 upper. It's an excellent scope for the money and the Ballistic Plex has close to exact match for the 450's ballistics. Sight it in at 100 yards and the hash marks are within an inch or so for 150, 200, and 250 yards. Another affordable close-midrange range option which I have on my .223 CAR is the Weaver Classic V 1-3x20. Not as good optical quality as the Burris, but good build quality. At 1X it's almost as fast as a Red Dot, but you can crank it up to 3x in no time. It distorts the image a little at 1X but it is not distracting when shooting.

Bought a nikon omega bdc for a hundred bucks from a friend that was selling his muzzeloader. So now just got to go get er dialed in.
