You temptress! The saddest part is that they're pull downs! Someone trashed loaded ammo. Image

as far as i know you cant sell military ammo as full loaded ammo anymore. once it goes into uncle sam's store rooms, its saleable as pulldown parts only. sucks, but it is what it is. *#$%*&^ bureaucrats.

as i understand it the "surplus" 5.56 ammo that hits the market are either rejected lots (didnt meet uniformity standards, or something similar) or contract overruns.

i've gotten several orders of stuff from american reloading. nice folks. takes 7-10 days to get orders processed and shipped, but they do tell you about it ahead of time.

always throwing coupons out there, however if something is relatively rare - i suggest buying when available. some things they get in VERY VERY VERY limited quantities. they had barnes .308 120gr Tac-TX bullets in stock and i missed them because they sold like hotcakes to the blackout folks. never seen them again since.

one huge perk to buying pulldown brass (vs once fired military brass) is its still virgin brass and there's no way it could have ever been fired in a machine gun - and therefore sporting any MG buldge. just needs a quick neck sizing and you're back in business. obviously not much risk of that with 30rar, but if you're buying 5.56 or 7.62x51 brass its a very valid concern.

Yes and I don't know. Its been a few years since I wrestled the barrel nut off of my RRA Predator HP AR10. I do know I took the one on the RAR off with a standard AR barrel nut part of an Armorers Wrench and I'm happy to report that the Remington tech who built mine actually used a torque wrench when he installed it. No need to do chin-ups to get it loose. It is indeed an AR10 sized barrel extension. The receiver is proprietary in order for that barrel extension to fit. You cannot put that barrel on any standard AR 15 receiver.

I will eventually phosphate blacken the brake to match the barrel, or cerakote it black. Came with a thread protector as well. I will address it morre in the Ross Schuler thread I started.
