Does the 450 BM need M4 feed ramps?

Postby Blasternank » Sat Oct 06, 2012 7:40 pm

I was just curious if they are needed. I have a stripped upper with the cuts and another without the cuts. Some rounds I've heard it's not a big deal if they have them or not. Let me know! Thanks. :)

Does your factory 450 bm have them cut into the upper reciever?

I really don't think it does, because the mag basically feeds single stack, and the M4 ramps are for feeding double stack. They say the M4 ramps help with larger bullets like 6.5, 6.8 & 7.62. If it does need them, its not like you can't file them in yourself.

Thanks for the response.

Do the bushmaster factory uppers come with them cut into them? Does anyone have a picture?

Thanks

The .450 BM barrel extensions have a wide cut (ramp) into them that basically removes much of the middle lower lug. All of the bullets I have tried have hit that ramp, not even close to the receiver. M$ feed ramps would be off to each side of the .450 BM bullet, so they would serve no purpose. With the .450 BM, it won't hurt if you used a receiver with M4 ramps, but you would gain nothing but a place to store crud.
