Anyone shot any of the Buffalo Cartridge 450BM ammo? I found some on ammoseek that are loaded with a 240gr JHC. What make of bullet is this?

Hmm...Buffalo Cartridge Co. website only lists 450b in 225gr Hornady FTX at 2310fps, for $22...?

https://ammomart.com/450-bushmaster-buf ... -20-rounds

UPDATE: I found the 240gr SJHP you're talking about (2250fps, same price) here:

I agree. Those do look a whole lot like Sierras.

Although, I gave Hoot a few and he did have a little trouble with feeding. I believe it had to do with the angle they sit at in the mags. Mine have the front sitting a little higher than what Hoot had.

IIRC, the issue was more of the luck of the draw with how they were oriented rotation wise. With a 4 blade pattern, there are four 90 degree quadrants. While about 80 degrees or rotation in each quadrant positioned those blades without issue, there was about 10 degrees where they lined up with the barrel extension cuts so that they jammed up against them. That breaks down to I believe is a 1 in 8 chance of a bad alignment. Again, IIRC, there are other factors like how the cartridges ride while waiting to be stripped and cycled into the chamber. A little more tilt one way or the other could impact the probability of a bad alignment. This was not a paid proof of design study, just some loose experimenting one evening with dummy rounds. All contributing factors considered, there is a possibility for a jam. The odds of it happening are however, more subject to additional study. In real life, I suspect that the shooter has very little chance of controlling the contributing factors aside from loading the rounds one by one. Most, if not all dangerous game hunters do not use autoloaders for a reason. A 1 in 8 chance of losing a deer because your second shot jammed while regrettable, is far less worthy of concern than a 1 in 8 chance of getting mauled by a wounded lion. ;)

I remember you had issues in certain orientations, but I think it came down to the angle the rounds sit at. I think because my mags point the nose up a little higher, it doesn't slam the flat nose into the barrel extension. I tried turning them every which way and only had one jam. It was from riding the charging handle when loading. Out of the 60-70 I've fired so far, I haven't had a feeding issue. Now If I could just pop a deer this weekend and see what the performance is.

personally, that would be one of the last bullets I'd pick for use in the 450. the expansion velocity they list leads me to believe the jacket is very thin.
