Thanks for the info on the buffer. Some of the reading I have done indicated a heavier buffer was needed.

If you think you need it, go for it. But I would have a standard Mil Spec buffer on standby just in case.

One option is also a "Carrier Weight"....going back to the Summer 0f 2011 I think I went and add it to my rifle just to try and it works great....simple job and fairly easy to follow instructions....

Did you complete the build?
If you test fired it, did it have any issues? Or did it work as intended?

what barrel do you have, and more importantly what length and gas port location?

On mine a buffer change wasn't needed. Also, oddly enough, mine works fine with standard steel 5.56 magazines from brownells.
