Where we dove hunt, I could probably get out to half to one mile, but I've never shot anything over 110. But these fields are massive with no houses around. Really starting to wish I had a four wheeler.

OK, OK, Now Dawg:

I've heard of bragging, but telling everyone that You & Your 450 BM can shoot accurately enough to hunt doves with it?? And then you have the audacity to tell us that you absolutely require a four wheeler to get down to check the target. That is a abit tough to believe! Are you sure your West Nile virus wasn't kicking it up a bit; and you just needed the wheeler to travel the 50 yrds to the target??? After all, in your present state of physical conditioning, we all know that 50yrds can seem like a mile and a half! And as far as the doves, we all know that your neighbor raises them funny looking Ausy EMU's. Better not let him hear you braggin' about blowin' the feathers off them 80 lb doves, at half a mile!
Ask a Syrian why his gun rights are so important !
Then, ask yourself why any Politician really wants to take our's away !!!

11 shots at 100 yards, fore end on sand bag, stock against my shoulder not on a rest.
Hornady 250 FTX
40 Gr. Lil' Gun
Winchester SR primers
Taper crimp
I believe any critter that steps into my sights this season is in trouble!

What was the FPS, just out of curiosity. I am about to test some other 250 Grain loads in that charge range.

Jim in Houston has a point about multiple shots in the field; the following shots are not usually in a group since both the shooter and the animal are probably changing positions. There are exceptions though. This is a trophy I have kept for more than 30 years. It wasn't a big buck but it is one of my favorite memories. I shot the buck 3 times at about 75 yards with a 308 and he never quit chewing acorns. I thought I was missing him and just as I got more rounds stuffed in my rifle he looked up and collapsed. This is what I found when I skinned him out.

My Daddy was wrong when he said: "When a man turns 60 he ought to be able to trade his testicles in on a new set of teeth." Oatmeal and soup don't sound too bad.

Dunno, I don't have a chronograph. It was out of the 16" barrel, maybe one of the gurus here can approximate it for us.

I will be chronographing the 250 gr blems that have the blue tips and also the 250 grain deep curls using various charges of LilGun. But I will be using a 20" barrel. All I need is time.
