Factory Ammo - Where is it and what's the price?

Postby 9x19MdM » Fri Dec 16, 2011 1:40 pm

I'm keeping my eyes open for good deals and availability of factory ammo (until I start reloading) and I'm trying to decide how many rounds do I need to have on-hand.

I bought 2 boxes when I bought the upper and the scope should ship out today so maybe by mid-week I can start heating up the barrel. 40 rounds should hold me for a little while but I found this today at Sportman's Guide :D

142307 Hornady® Interlock™ Rifle .450 Bushmaster 250 Gr. FTX 20 rds. $27.97 $26.57

And FREE SHIPPING - code SH532

So there's 2 boxes in my cart!

Palmetto charges for shipping, $12 last I ordered from them, which for two boxes means that you are about break even with Sportsman's Guide (I am a frequent customer of theirs), but you will do better with more boxes over which to spread the shipping charge.

I suggest you think about 100 rounds to start, more if it will take you some time to get up and running on reloading. Over time, I have bought several hundred rounds, and I reload them all.

I looked at a couple of things in my cart... removed 1 and added another box for a total of 3.

This is still the best price because of free shipping (through today) offer (on 2 boxes anyway) and I bought into their Club Membership last month so the price is a little better.

Some of the Noobys may want to bookmark this thread and the links to these suppliers for factory ammo.
