I did it with mine but I just put on rail ladders instead of full covers.

Very nice! What handguard did you go with? I suppose I could go with one like that only I would go with the rail guards. I don't feel I would need all the rails since the .450 upper would be for deer.

I guess another reason I don't want to stay with the factory tubular handguard is I will be swapping my 5.56 upper out and use that lower for the .450. At least for the time being. My 5.56 lower has Magpul OD green furniture. The route you went would allow me to use OD green rail covers.

In the future I will end up buying another Palmetto State Armory lower and build a lower strictly for the .450.

The Palmetto Lowers are on sale right now for $50. This would be a good time to get one.

How did you get the gas block off? I took mine in to do that and the gunsmith called and said she couldn't get the gas block off, had tried everything and was afraid of ruining the barrel.

Dang... They almost snuck this one by me. I've been going to their website checking all week. It is hard to beat a quality $50 lower. My 5.56 AR is PSA's 14.7" upper and their lower and LPK. It will run whatever I feed it. Seems to like Cabelas Herters ammo.

It's been awhile but I don't remember it being too difficult at all.

Just so you know, I own about 11 ARs and only 2 of the uppers I have were factory built, the 450b being one of them. So I have some pretty good experience with these things.

Still, like I said, I don't remember having any trouble.

Mag pul makes a bolt on ring w/pica tinny rails for our free floater. With the right shooting glove the texture won't botther you, and if you hunt where you don't need gloves I want to hunt with you. :D

I can't find it either, it may be a different manufacturer. It's really slick though, just slides on to end of tube and gives u three 2inch rails. I did some searching and couldn't find it, hopefully it wasn't discontinued. I'll keep looking because I was gonna get one before deer season but didn't have the money. If any one else knows what I'm talking about please chime in.
