Howdy all. Just joined the 450 club and am thrilled with this rifle. I had a DPMS carbine that I was using a Bushmaster Predator upper that I was going to use for predator hunting but saw the 450 and decided to get rid of the DPMS and buy a complete 450 carbine.
Anyhow, the consistency and accuracy of this rifle are superb. After checking the drop charts I decided to zero at 172 yards. My range is only set up for 100 yards so I zero'd at 3 inches high at 100 then mil'd the target and moved back into the weeds until my dots showed that I was at my zero range of 172 (give or take). I went prone and fired one shot and it was exactly 1/4" low and dead center on the target.
I was also surprised with how easy the recoil was. The only issue that I had was that it had a hard time locking up when dropping the carrier on the first round so I put in an extra power buffer spring and now it locks up easy and recoil is even softer.
I also slapped an Ace skeleton stock on with an Ergo grip to get it handling a little better.
I gotta admit that this is the friendliest rifle I've owned in a long time. Just can't wait to find a whitetail.
