I was using the ballistics calculator on the Normal website..

Playing with it just now I must have been using a 3" low at 200 yds and not 250...

i was going for something similar to:

75 yds @ 2.5" high
100 yds@ 2.8 high
150 yd @ 1.5" high
200 yds @ 2.9" low
If you are on Facebook, check out the 450 Bushmaster "Thumper" group I created.. We are always looking for new members and don't forget to share any pictures you have...

Looks like you are sighting in at 175 yards?

On height over bore, just measure it for your rifle. 2.5" is considered the magic number (see Dick Metcalf's article, "Mount Up" in the Feb 2012 Guns & Ammo), but mine is closer to 3.25". It depends on the diameter of your scope, the height of your rings, and if you are using a riser (and what size).

Some have suggested zero to be around 150-170 yards. But if we start zeroing with handloads with bullets in the 200-230 grain, and zeroing around 150 yards, I think we might start seeing better ballistics. And 225 grains is more than enough to bang-flop your average whitetail. But as you point out, we have to use not only a balistic calc, field testing is going to be the final word. But we are seeing results time and time again from actual hunts, that the 450 Bushmaster has tons of potential.

Yuppers, on all that's being discussed here. I sight all of mine a 200yds and do a center mass hold to 235yds. I also shoot regularly out to 400yds and rarely miss the intended target, except for those time when The Dawg, gooses me, at trigger break, go figure..

It's hard to pass on.....especially when WC keeps stealing my pouch of Taylors Pride to pad his shoulder...

Sounds like WC needs to put that pouch of Taylor's Pride somewhere besides on his shoulder...

I finally smartened up, listened to WC, and zeroed mine at 200 also...covers more than everything for shootin' around these parts, but on the very odd chance (here) of a longer shot, holdover is not excessive.
