Notice how I say "our round", as if I had anything to do with inventing it. I guess I'm just proud of what it can do.

Thanks everyone for the welcomes and advice.

Im going to talk to james at trident on monday about the possibility of an upper.

All this Rainer talk is Murphy's law. I reload my 45acp with 230gr fmj Rainer bullets. Ha. Figures.

Will I damage a barrel shooting those bullets at high velocities?

We haven't had any members launch a muzzle brake yet AFAIK. I mainly saw small shards flying out with the bullet. Nearly trashed my chrony and some of the bullets wound up who knows where. Certainly not in the 4'x4' target board at 100 yards. Some others may have input on that so stand by. FWIW, I have never shot Rainier Bullets.

I spooled up some ranier bullers in the 185new flavor right to the max and they blossomed like flowers on valentines day... looked like a fully expanded perfect pqttern in the backboard at 30the yards.... they cant hack 2750 out of the 16bag twist, and by the looks of them at 2500the they wont like a 22-28twist either.

Welcome, I'm very fond of my 16" barrel as I use it in the woods regularly. If you are a range shooter, then the majority says go 20"... if you are killing something, it will never miss the 100 fps, and much easier to carry through the brush!!

I decided on building my own upper using a trident barrel from james. I'll keep you guys updated on how it goes. I'll also be putting together a how to on making a 30rd pmag work for the .450b

Much thanks to James at Trident!

Here's what I've done so far, I have a UBR on order and I'm trying to decide on glass, maybe a redfield or leupold 2-7x

I'll get some better pics if I can find my DSLR, and when it is complete I'll post the pics in the rifle gallery

Upper is a Trident receiver/BCG/barrel with a 12.37'' sampson evolution FF rail
Lower is a Spikes Tactical with a RRA 2stage NM trigger, ergo grip, KNS trigger pins, MOE enhanced trigger guard, ASAP end plate and some el'cheapo stock (tapco)

Heres a bonus pic of my two favorite toys, I have a feeling the .450 will soon be another.

Oh, it will...just wait 'till you see what it can do on furry friends with four legs. Mighty nice looking rigs there, in both cases!

Well, was sighting in the new day/night vision scope for the 450b and drew several interested onlookers at the range yesterday. In fact three of them have been infected with 450b madness syndrome after touching off a few rounds on my 20" camo. They're wanting to get in the game, I think, but I told them it could be a trick to find anything at all to buy...

Has anyone seen any sort of 450b, complete or upper, in stock anywhere that I could direct these guys to?
