Custom Lower Build project.A trigger question.

A/R style weapons are truly amazing. When accessorizing, building and
Customizing, we are extremely fortunate to have companies like Bushmaster,
Brownells, Numrich, Area 51 tactical, Cheaper than Dirt, etc to turn
To for our firearms needs. If I left anyone out, it's not intentional.
But now I want to build a custom Lower and while I want a Bushmaster
Lower, the parts for the lower are made by all kinds of manufacturers.
Specifically, I want to consider for a moment the trigger group.
I need some feedback here. I can buy a complete lower from
Bushmaster with everything I need already installed.
But I want this lower to be special in a few ways.
One thing is the trigger. I can just accept the trigger group as
Installed by Bushmaster. OR... I can ask to have their
Competition trigger kit installed. OR.. I can special order from
Another distributor, a Timney or a Chip McCormick.
What ideas or input do you guys have?

I own a DCM lower with the bushy competition two stage in it. I shot high power with this rifle years ago and have spent some time on it. Recently I replaced the stock single stage bushy trigger on the lower that carries my .450B with a RRA two stage and so far I would say that I prefer the RRA.

The least expensive way to a decent trigger is to buy it all together and then send the trigger group to "Bill Springfield" and he can do a decent job for $60.00.

See http://www.triggerwork.net. I think others on this site have used his service and they will chime in. I use a Chip McCormik and also an American Trigger. Both are rather pricey and I now question the purchase on a rifle that I use for strictly hunting after I found out about Bill Springfield.

I have to second this. I use Chips and the American Gold Trigger, in my shop guns and my personal rig and the American has an extreme edge, in over-all match functionality and I love it allot, but siringo is quite right, they are very pricey.

I shot Bushmeister's $60 buck rig and was very surprised in his workmanship and it is great! I can recommend Bill's work, without hesitation..t

This is a good deal on a couple lower parts kits from a basic trigger to the Geissele Super Semi-Automatic (SSA) Trigger.

Here's a few with just trigger groups

I recomend sending your stock trigger group to Bill also. I have a Timney in one AR and a stock trigger that Bill worked over and it feels as good.

I like my bill springfield trigger. His site is http://triggerwork.net/ In fact, you can just buy one from him and not fool with removal and shipping.

I purchased the Timney drop in, and I've been very happy with it.

I read on another forum that some ppl in the AR community were having trouble with Springfield triggers down the road.. Anyone heard of that??

I am using a RRA two stage match trigger and really like it.. Every now and then you can catch them someplace for around $90 or so..
