Sight in range?

At what yardage are you sighting in with the Hornady factory ammo?
I thought I saw a chart showing a 50 yard zero gave something like 1.5" high at 100 yards and 1.5" low at 200yards.

Keep in mind that if you sight in at a closer range, any error will be exaggerated at longer ranges. Sight in at a longer range and any error will be lesser at closer range. Despite what the tables predict, my personal experience with the 450b is when sighted dead on at 100 yards, it is something like a half inch low at 50 yards. AKA insignificant, unless you're going for eye shots. ;)

Depends on what you're wanting to shoot, what size groups you want at the various ranges and how much remaining energy you want. Might want to grab a point-blanc calculator and experiment with target size vs range..t

Mine is sighted in 1 inch high at 100 yards. (Factory ammo regularly prints 1 inch groups at that range.) Where most of my hunting happens I don't have many shots over 100 yards but I know out to about 200 the rifle will do the job if I do mine.
My Daddy was wrong when he said: "When a man turns 60 he ought to be able to trade his testicles in on a new set of teeth." Oatmeal and soup don't sound too bad.

I have also read data that says sighting the factory ammo at
150 yards will put you 1.4" high at 100 yards and 2" low
At 200 yards. Think I saw that discussion in the reloading threads.
That's the range I'm gonna start with first.

I'll rarely if ever shoot over 100 yards. I like that this Thumper is pretty flat out to 200.
