After market triggers??

Postby MADONE64 » Wed Oct 07, 2009 9:41 pm

Thinking about a trigger up grade.
I'm pretty used to the triggers on my ARs, but since I plan to do a fair amount of hunting with my 450, just wondering if anyone had an an opinoin on the best after market trigger set up for one. I dont expect to get in the range of my bolt guns, but i wouldn't mind getting a good single stage in the 3.5 to 4lb range.
I know there are several options out there, but whats the best??
Thanks,
MADONE

I changed mine out for a RRA two stage match trigger (currently retails for $120 at RRA) and it make a BIG difference in accuracy (with 5.56) .. My stock trigger was gritty and heavy..

While I had my 450 Bushy, I used a RRA 2 stage, it worked fine with no issues.

Im a big AR GOLD and GA trigger fan however.

I'm not sure what those are. IS the AR Gold that new $300 trigger made by Chip McCormic and some other guy?

is a GA trigger a gieselle?

I have 2 gieselles and love them, just didn't feel I needed one on this.

I’m currently running a hyperfire edt. It’s pull weight is right at 3.5 lbs with the lighter springs installed. It also comes with heavier springs if you like a 5-6 lb pull. Very little creep, crisp break and a great price point! Think I got mine from red barn for less than 80$ .

I shopped triggers extensively before choosing one for my 20" Bushmaster. Like you my intended use is hunting. The Timney Targa two stage was the one I ended up going with and I consider it worth the $ spent. Two pounds of let up then a two pound break which is clean, crisp, and smooth.....It is a HUGE improvement over the factory trigger. Perfect for making deliberate well placed shots on deer from a scoped rifle. Any lighter would IMO be too light of a pull.

Added bonus is that it's a drop in unit. Super simple and quick to install.

All my AR's wear the RRA 2-stage NM trigger. That way, it feels the same on every rig. No need to remember the change from one to the other.

Best price is from Pete

I have a Geissele 2 Stage (G2S) Trigger in my 450BM currently. Got it on sale when Primary Arms discounted them. I have a LaRue Tactical MBT-2S Trigger on my 300BO. LaRue will occasionally sell that trigger for $99. Both have served me well.
