Okay, I hopped over to the gun room and grabbed my factory mag that has 5 rounds in it. Took some pictures for you.

Sorry they're so big, but I figured the detail might help you some.
And I know most of the guys have seen this video on the 450 B mag mod, but here it is again to give you some idea of just "how much" physical spring is in my functional magazine.

I was thinking about cutting down the mag spring as well last night. Seems like a ton of spring in there for how little mag there is and this would create so much up force that the friction between the case and the feed lips has to be huge. Looks like I am going to trim some springs tonight.

By that video, it looks like you have about 2 1/4-2 1/2 complete loops of spring exiting the mag when the follower is at the top of the mag. I don't have a mag with me at my office, but I know that I have way more than that from the factory. I'm going to check it tonight and cut one down. I think that could make a HUGE difference.

Thanks for the help! 8-)

Yeah. It wasn't but just a few coils.

I chopped my springs last night. Here is a photo showing what is left with how much I cut off. The screw driver is obviously pointing to the cut. I cannot believe how much spring was in there, versus what is needed.

Hand cycling the gun last night was much better. Every round cycled flawlessly by hand. Still trying to find an opening around our bitter cold weather here to go shoot, but I think I have solved my problems.

24 rounds (two different mags filled up, two times each) at lunch time today and zero malfunctions of any sort. 8-)

Moral to the story ... shorten your mag springs, open those feed lips, and polish the lips and ramp.

Keeping my fingers crossed that this is the end of my problems.

This is an image from a thread back in 2010, of the spring they used to come with:

Spring steel to add weight to the gun apparently. That is crazy.

I really don't understand why BM has to make this so difficult. :?:
