Flash Hider

Postby Big Tulip » Wed Oct 21, 2015 7:14 am

I just had .450 Bushmaster built using a Brownell 16" Stainless barrel. It has a 3/4 x 24 thread on it, I have a thread protector on it now but was wondering if anyone knows if there is a flash hider available, stainless otherwise?
Thanks.

I am not aware of a flash hider with that thread, but Ross can make you a muzzle brake that has the proper threads.

I ordered a Ross brake for mine, it was about the only one I could find in that thread.

I have the same barrel. I was a bit perplexed by the lack of flash hiders in this thread pitch. You'll have to look for a .458 SOCOM flash hider if you want to find anything in this thread pitch.

I used a Wilson Combat .458 accu-tac flash hider on my Franklin Armory .450 BM barrel with no issues (different thread pitch, but same idea/application).

Here's one - scroll to the bottom of the page.

Here's another, looks pretty much like the one above:

For what it's worth, I ended up ordering a Ross Brake. For $35 you can't go wrong.

I spoke with Saturn, the barrel manufacture for the .450 Bushmaster that Brownell's sells. They are making a flash hider for me, and are going to begin selling it as an option.

Ross has a page here in the market place. Just email him your specs and $35 shipped. Boom.
And this brake has had some serious R&D done on it and it’s proven effective for any caliber and any thread.
