Need NY legal bbl

Might be relocating to NE NY. SAFE act allows only one "assault rifle" feature on a semi-auto rifle. Detachable magazine is ONE. So I have to get a legal stock (Thordsen) and a bbl with no threads, brake or flash hider.

Would like an 18-20" one with a tad more weight than my current 16".

I've found a 20" threaded but it's chrome lined, so whacking off the threads concern me.

Any ideas ? Thanks.

You can't pin and weld a compensater to your barrel thereby eliminating the threads?
I am in San Francisco and we try to follow similar "guidelines" for our safety. Wouldn't want to cut a finger on those sharp machined barrel threads.....
I would also look at a grip wrap instead of a new stock. The grip wrap will not allow you to wrap your thumb around that evil pistol grip - thereby eliminating the evil feature.

Our NY contingent here may not have seen your post yet, perhaps. I do know that the gun shops who will sell to NY always mention that their compensators are pinned and welded to comply with the diktats from the Central Committe in Albany. I'm pretty sure that's your answer if you want to keep the comp/brake on the tube. As to cutting off the threads, I would think that NY gunsmiths have done a good bit of that sort of thing lately...maybe one of them can advise you on the process, especially with regard to chrome-lined barrels. Let us know how it goes!

I'd suggest readers go to the NY SAFE act website.

https://safeact.ny.gov/gun-owners

lest you get in trouble.

NO brakes, suppressors, flash hiders are legal IF you wish to keep your detachable 10 round (limit) magazine.

NY is different than other slave states !!!!

Found legal barrels for all my chambering (223,300 B/O, 450 BM) at BlackHole.

http://www.shop.blackholeweaponry.com/4 ... 50B-20.htm

20" in the 450 will be nicer, kinda like my Browning 1886 45-70 carbine.

Should handle anything in NY !

Jeep Jeep lives(d) on Long Island and had his Ross brake permanently welded on. Turned out a real nice looking job. However, that was in 2011, before the S.A.F.E. Act. He hasn't been around in a few years, so I don't know if he was grandfathered or what came of his rig?

Go to the NY website I listed above. All the info is there.

What happened before the SAFE act means nothing now, NOTHING was grandfathered in NY.

Tromix bbls are all threaded
Bartz sells only uppers and has no pricing.

call this place, Just Guns of Mason - 517.244.9001. They handle Bartz stuff for mail order, might have something on hand for a barrel or could probably get one.

Dave at Gryphon Trading list threaded on his site, but a email or phone call might get you hooked up.

James at Trident turns his own barrels.

Cole at Deadshot Barrels will make what you want.

Satern Machine makes them to order too.
