Polymer mag alternative for the 450b from IMI Defense

Several of us have used the polymer mags that used to be sold for the SIG-556, after we discovered that they worked just fine for the 450b right out of the box, with no mods or adjustments. They hold 11-12 rounds. Unfortunately, SIG no longer sells them, but I've found out that you can get the exact same mag (and it works) from IMI Defense! If you want to try a polymer mag to help with feed reliability and higher capacity, here's a link to one source (there are others)...the good news is that the IMI mags are less than half the price of the old SIG ones:

Thank you Commander. I have one of these from my IWI Tavor purchase. Upon loading there is a ridge in the front of the mag which seems to channel each bullet tip left then right....have you had any problems with the bullet tips hanging up on this ridge when stripping out?

Thanks for the info.

Just ordered from Aces Ammo and Mag. They beat CTD on mag cost by $.50 and shipping by $7.

Hadn't run into that...might be a production run change on the newest mags? Might need to "customize" the ridge for the 450b. Glad you noticed that...mine were just loose mags of unknown vintage, not take-offs from a current weapon. Possible fly in this particular ointment...

That's great info. My sig mags are still going strong, but I could use a few more. I sure wish someone would make a short polymer magazine that I can use for hunting. The steel one makes noise and is a good heat sink... and the long ones get in the way in my treestand...

I was about to start cutting on a pmag to see if I could make what I was looking for, and did one last internet search. I think I finally found a short polymer mag. http://gunmagwarehouse.com/promag-ar-15 ... azine.html
