I use pretty much any AR mag. You don't need to spend a fortune for a special mag, nor do you need a special follower in most cases. I find the straight mags (20 rnd) work best with the 450 BM, since the straight wall rounds bind in the curve ones. You should be able to get 7 rounds in a 20 rnd AR mag and 5 in a 10, and 4 in a five - or something like that.

I know this is a long shot (no pun intended), but has anyone tried feeding from a 6.8 magazine? Especially a PRI 6.8 mag...

Waddya know...I just happened to have a PRI 6.8 SPC 25 round mag laying around from a previous experiment with my 30RAR (unsuccessful...) Your post inspired a "duh" momement; I hadn't even thought about trying it with the 450b. Classic case of "tunnel vision." Anyway, I loaded the PRI up with 450b...they double-stack nicely, and it holds six rounds of 450b before the follower causes them to go excessively tip-up. I haven't taken it to the range yet, but it hand-feeds the six 450b reliably, as far as I can tell from several six-round cycles. Six rounds is an improvement over four I guess. Needs to be checked at the range, though.

Glad to help think outside the box!

Mine are the 15 rounders so 3-4 might be doable there. It would be nice to use the 6.8 and 5.56 mags I already have with no changes. And as much as it goes against my "you can never have too many rounds on board" mentality, .450 is not something I'm going to want to do a high round count mag dump anyway!

Somehow you have miss-quoted me in your above post. You are quoting Jim in Houston and not avenger10. I did not say I use any magazine. I only use BartZ magazines and I do believe for best feeding you need the proper follower and the inserts to center the round properly. Our magazines work very well and we are proud of them.
