I find myself building yet another AR Variant (BRD-V strain "I can quit building these anytime I want to , but I can't seem to want to") his will be a range toy and occasional Bambi Blaster . Is there any reason not use a Tromix Barrel and Bolt ? Any other manufactures I should consider? As I recall sometime back Tromix was a bi part of the 458 socom becoming popular and seemed to make a well regarded product. Thanks in advance for sharing any of your experience .

At 100 yards accuracy was just okay in mine.....

There is slight room for improvement, here's another three shot group

All kidding aside I think the Tromix is well made

I can speak highly of Gryphons barrels if your looking for stainless.

IIRC, Tromix was one of the originators of the 458 Socom, and he's highly regarded in that realm. I just finished a build with a Tromix 450B, and so far I am pleased with it. Only have about 80rds down it right now, but it's showing potential. Mainly working on 225 FTX for plinking, but will hopefully start working on hunting loads soon.

Have heard good things about Gryphon, Bartz, Satern, and BHW. Also heard good things about Franklin, but the rifle length gas system on the 20" barrel can be finicky. There's a few others out there, but haven't really heard anything about them, yet.
