Ruger American muzzle brake on AR upper?

As the title states, I'm curious if anyone has tried the Ruger brake on an AR upper. I have a surplus Ruger muzzle device and thought it might be a good substitute for the Izzy that came on the AR upper.
Your thoughts?

yeppers, put one on buds Gryphon barrel, it works fine.
If I had to rate it against my Ross, I'd give it a 9.

Thanks! Did you use the locking nut from the Ruger or a crush washer?
