what are your typical and max hunting distances from the stand you'll be hunting from? that will help us recomend an optimal zero

i'm zeroed at 100 yds.

but thats because there's really only a couple limited spots where that zero isnt point and shoot for me. if i were to hunt more open fields that presented 200 yd shots, i would zero closer to 150.

just for reference, here's a 100 yd zero for the 250 ftx factory ammo @ 2200 fps

same load, 150 yd zero

I have a max shot of 200 yards but it would be very rare to shoot that far. Most deer are under 50 yards.

I zero at 50yds. Depending on bullet, it’ll zero back out at about 150yds. So far my hunting distances have been 20-50yds, so don’t really need anything else.

I had initial sighted in with 240gr XTP/MAG at 150 yards but after playing around trying other bullets I ended up with a 100 yard zero with the slower 275 gr TSX. I plugged my muzzle velocity and bullet's BC into a ballistic calculator and made custom hold chart for the ballistic reticulated in my scope. Printed it out and taped it into my scope cover.

After looking at some ballistic charts I think 50 yards zero should be good for me. Looks like it will shoot fairly flat (under an inch) out to 135ish then drop to 1.5" at 150y and then its 6.7" at 200.

I did a quick sight in at 75 yards, then plinked with it some this summer. Now that deer season is a few weeks away, it's time to get serious on getting a zero. I also just ordered a sling mount....

Here is the obligatory pic.
